Stuart & Mel of Masterclass in Alpe d'Huez offer the highest quality private skiing lessons & group clinics.    Whether it's making the jump from greens to blues, or tackling challenging black and off piste runs, each lesson will be tailor made for your needs.  We use the latest techniques and the most up to date teaching aides, and explain in terms and language you will understand.  We ensure you will have ski lift queue priority, allowing you to spend optimum time skiing.

or in private lessons if you prefer
We offer We offer a sympathetic method of teaching, in short but intensive two hourly sessions over a period of a few days, with time off to practice and consolidate, and to ski with family and friends.

Take you guiding round the mountain (many companies have a guiding service.  The Ski Club of Great Britain rep is resident in Alpe d'Huez and has a guiding programme)

WHO we are

We are a small friendly group of independent ski teachers, trained and qualified to the highest degree.

Stuart Adamson started Masterclass in Alpe d'Huez in 1993, in order to offer British clients the opportunity to take a course of intensive coaching with some of the top British trained instructors, including Mel & Oli (see pictures below).

Stuart holds all the relevant qualifications including BASI 1, BASI Trainer, the French Equivalence and was even a schoolmaster.  Most importantly Stuart has forty years of experience from which to draw.

Mel Mallen has worked in most of the European countries during his 25 years of ski teaching experience.   Mel now lives in Alpe d'Huez and works alongside Stuart in Masterclass.  

Mel has been at the top of the British Ski Instruction system for many years, holding the highest awards including BASI 1, BASI trainer / examiner, ESC coach and the full French Equivalence.

WHAT is our Masterclass technique

a series of manoeuvres that assist your forward movement and allow you and your skis to work in harmony
a realignment of your body to allow you to control your descent with maximum carve and no slip

Most mistakes in skiing are at grass roots level.  We cut out the jargon and give you guidance.  If you want your ski to turn, we will show you how to stand on the right part of the ski at the right time.  

MASTERCLASS are the acknowledged experts at confidence & skill improvement at all levels
